They dance in the dark the album – the show

What would you do if you discovered a party where Gary Numan is married to The Orb who is slow dancing with Massive Attack, while Oum Kalthoum French kisses Prince and finally, Daphne Oram is mixing the drinks? THEY DANCE IN THE DARK is a mystical electronic space odyssey with live music, ableton and percussion, live visuals and different dance and drag performances.

RENU’s electronic music production largely references 80s and 90s Electronic dance music and combines the height of dark hooky anthems with an underlying post-colonial narrative. THEY DANCE IN THE DARK is dedicated to all the witches, weirdos, nerds, femmes and queers of this cosmos.

LNDN based filmmaker, visual artist YUE WANG live visuals for THEY DANCE IN THE DARK are created in collaboration with RENU for the album and the show. The visuals reflect the albums queer, weird and femme spirit in a setting of a mystical electronic odyssey.
